Classifieds -- For Buying or Selling / Re: FS R9 $850

Interesting question, Mike.  As long as you do the sale legally -- i.e., to an adult Florida resident -- I'm not sure how it could create liability?

In my mind, the bill of sale is your proof that you no longer own or are responsible for the firearm.

I was contacted once by law enforcement about a gun that I had bought new winding up in their possession.  They did not say why.  I told them I had sold it to an unknown person at a gun show for cash.  I'm sure that sounded shady...  I never heard anything else about it, but that made me a lot more interested in documenting sales.

Out of curiosity, why the bill of sale requirement?
Do you believe it provides a level of security instead of being a liability?
(The attorney that handles my NFA items told me to avoid them whenever possible.)

The classifieds are generally limited to Rohrbaugh guns and related items.  Honestly, this is not the place to get exposure on any other type of listing. ;)

Thank you sir.

I saw the little guy at a show in Ft Worth but didn’t act on the impulse. A short time later we planned a trip in to Tomball so I called his shop to see if he still had it, and found out he was going to be at the Conroe show. I beat feet to the show and grabbed it.

Every time I pick up the R9 I admire the fit and finish. I hate to sell but I have made a decision to trim the numbers. I am letting go of a few others. I will have to review the rules but I don’t think I can list them here as they are not R9’s.

Nice late model R9, probably I think those had every improvement incorporated into them.

BTW, Conroe has a gun show this weekend.  Never knew Allen of AJ sold these guns.

Good Luck with you sale.

For Sale - R9 $850$750 sold locally for $700.
I bought this R9 in 2010 from AJ Sport Shop at the gun show in Conroe, TX. I have maybe shot a box to function test with carry ammo. I have all the documents, the box, two magazines, and a spare unopened replacement recoil spring. I have carried it a few times, but it shows no wear. I can provide additional pictures as requested. We can talk on the phone to answer further questions and improve buying confidence if interested. I am in the south Fort Worth area and am open to FTF transfer with LTC or DL and bill of sale.

Rohrbaugh R9 (all variations) / Re: Question on value

Thank you for the response. That is just my luck with me: buy high, sell low. The R1s seem to be a collector's and more of a niche item. I. Got mine back in 2010 because I thought they were a very cool semi-custom mini 9mm. I joined this site back then, but I was never very active, and unfortunately, I lost my username and history.  A lot has changed over the years; now it just sits in the safe, and now it’s time for it to find a new home.

Probably not the answer your hoping for but R9 prices seem to be down.  Looking at past, sold, gunbroker auctions most that have sold in t3cent months are in the $600-$800 range with a couple as much as $1650ish but those sells look fishy because of like guns offered at the same time of those listed for much lower prices.

The Rohrbaugh market goes up and down historically.  Right now its way down from what I've seen.

Rohrbaugh R9 (all variations) / Question on value
« Last post by hotel charlie on July 04, 2025, 02:11:15 PM »
Howdy all, i bought my R9 back in 2010, carried it on and off for a while, then moved to higher capacity plastic pieces. It’s been in the safe for years.

I am looking to reduce the head count of my collection by working with a dealer on gun broker. In the batch I am offering is an R9 in the 53xx serial range. The question I have is how best to establish a reasonable value. I have done some looking on this site and and on GB, I am finding a wide range of prices. Does anyone have an experience they would share or words of wisdom?

Thanks for help.
