Rainy morning musings
« on: May 03, 2009, 12:31:33 PM »
Mother warned me about idle thinking. Today, around here there is not much more to do. Rain and thunder say the best course is to stay in-doors. Guns dominate my thinking. If reloaded evry piece of brass on the place. All guns are scrubbed and put away after 3 visits to the range. Off and on I wonder what I am doing with an R9s. I have two safes full of guns culled out of 50 years of gathering. An HK P7M8, a S&W 52-2, and a Mod 41 dominate my time at the range. But there is a Rohrbaugh. It rides in my pocket everywhere I go. With ya'll's help I have become confident that it's gonna work if I ever have to call on it. Yet rainy day musings advise me to put it up for sale. Another fight of fancy says to see if someone wants to trade an R380 for an older model R9s. Tom Watson said that he heard it's recoil is more along the lines of a .22 LR. That would be nice. But then .380 ammo is scarce and I have a life time's (my life time) supply of Gold Dot 115s. Do any of you guys have these ideas? Am not asking for advice; just checking to see if there's any other grounded  folks who can help pass the time till the Cardinal's game starts.

robertd.  Just my thoughts!  I'd keep the R9s.  Not advice, just thinking!    :)    ;)

Robertd,

Keep the R9.  In my humble opinion, it is the best.  Sure you could get a larger caliber or a gun with more magazine capacity.  But I don't think you could find a better gun for an all day, every day carry.

I sold my first R9S and lived to regret it. Recommend you keep it and add the .380 to your collection.
