riff and Dan both have good points. The problem is NOBODY wants to admit they paid over 1k for a lemon anymore then SEEING thier treasured pups trashtalked on THE forum for Rohrbaugh. Its a tight rope to walk when you try to suggest possible solutions to guns and someone else JUST HAS to run to the rescue of Rohrbaugh with "how dare yous" spewing.
Ive seen riff take hits, cheapshots, AND potshots. Ive read his range reports despite the constant flow of the koolaid crowd jerring that hes limpwristed, etc. Yet riff continues. Without usualy so much as a retort. CLASS. I for one give him credit. His ammunition research has probably benefited more than a few "lurkers". Im old and crotchity so stuff doesn't "roll of my back" like riff, BUT his is an idealistic solution. He has found the ammo his R-9 functions with to HIS particular reliability requiremnts. If someone faults it for whatever reason, it really is of no consequence because hes gonna continue to use it! I say...GOOD FOR HIM!
But, thier comes a time to fish or cut bait. Dan my friend, your sorrows have been mimicked by MANY and im sure that will continue. Only you can decide if a 9mm this SMALL is worth the efforts to attempt to remidy it. If you had a Kahr that was flawless you seem to have been in the minority. But obviously thier are some SENSITIVE folks here on this board who dont wanna read about how great Kahr is or what a lemon the R-9 is. Your obviously an educated man so im sure by now you've seen this trend. Idealy, the forum benefits from people like riff who bring solutions to the table for problamatic pups and offer them as VIABLE, alternatives to repeated returns to the factory.
Bottom line: your beyond subscribing to the whole "very few problems" chant. You know what you've bought, what you've got, and I suspect probably wont be buying anymore. Now you have to decide what to do with the one you've got. Relax, Regain composure and continue to keep on keepin on or....drop it like its hot, sell it, be done with it, and do your homework on the next gun, whatever brand/caliber it may be. Goodluck!
