Slide Tracks
« on: April 18, 2007, 08:43:46 PM »
After several range sessions it's become painfully obvious that my gun is determined to tatoo a right side slide track on my hand.  Had this problem with a PPK and I corrected it by filing down and polishing the lower edge of the slide at the base of the slide serrations.  But I ain't gonna mess with the finish on my R9 at all!  I'll just suffer through......

Well I am not exactly clear on what part of your hand the gun is touching but I have had my share of small auto thumb.  I have had no problem with my R9's.

I guess I've been fortunate in that area, even with my PPK.  Never had it happen, but then my hands are just at the medium mark.

I,ve always heard almost every PPK owner talk about getting "bit" at least once.

Good Luck,

Reinz

I have a faint thin scar about 1/2" long on the web of my right hand between thumb and forefinger that is a permanent reminder of a PPK I carried as a BUG to my issue 1911 back in my Army days.  We used to call it "the PPK bite."    :)
