This guy for President?!
« on: November 01, 2006, 11:48:49 PM »
Mayor Bloomberg of NYC - who has been talked about as a Republican candidate for President in 2008, has publicly stated his goal of reducing the already small number of NYC residents who hold concealed handgun licenses.

That be as it may, would you prefer Bloomberg, Hillary, or
maybe Obama? That could be our choices.

I was feeling pretty good this morning until I contemplated all of that.

I'm thinking John McCain might have the edge.

I'm hoping Mitt Romney decides to run.  He seems to be the real deal, has good ideas, gets things done in a hostile atmosphere, fairly young.

John McCain scares me a little.  He's getting up in age.  I just saw a rerun of his biography on the History Channel.  The guy's a genuine war hero who carries the scars but doesn't brag about his service / sacrifice.  He has spent his whole life rebelling against the establishment from his school days to his military service to his career as a legislator.  He seems to have a contratrian streak.

Bloomberg, McCain and Guilliani are all liberals folks.  If they get the nomination we are in trouble.

Please give us the solution in addition to the problem, but
whoever it is has to be electable; maybe this topic should
probably best be discussed elsewhere before it escalates.
Most of us here seem to be conservative in our lifestyles
and politics.

Jeb Bush will soon be looking for work.  He has been an excellent Governor.  I'd vote for him in a heartbeat.  8)

I have heard them called RINO's (Republicans In Name Only).  The GOP has way too many of them.

I'd love to see the Constitution Party get some publicity.  In the 2004 PA senate race, they made things interesting.
