A Great Book
« on: January 16, 2011, 09:48:02 PM »
I received an instructor email from the NRA a few days ago that listed a new book. I have purchased a few books lately that were not very good from various authors.(Not NRA books)

The new book "Concealed Carry Fundamentals" by Michael Martin is one of the best books I have bought in YEARS! I have been calling my friends and telling them about it. Any new or intermediate shooter should have this book. It is agreat concise review for advance shooters.

What is your favorite training book?

Jack - hopefully some gunshops and vendors at gunshows will pick that book up.  I sure could have used a book like that many years ago.  Maybe I would only have one drawer full of holsters instead of a whole chest of drawers.

I thought I was the only one who wasted hundreds of dollars on holsters. I gave away all of the ones I didn't use. I have over thirty milt sparks holsters and mag carriers for various carry gun options and two shoulder holsters. One of the best non -holster items I bought was a small belt camera case 4x4.5 I use with my Seecamp 32.

The worst thing is I'm too fat to wear my IWB holsters anymore. :'(

I'm not sure if it is fat or body type, or both.  I tried top quality IWB holsters from Kramer, Mitch Rosen, Milt Sparks to name a few.
I even bought pants one size larger to make room for the rig.
My waist size them was 33/34.  I just could not make the IWB system work for me.  I looked and felt like I had a cancerous tumor bulging.  Or maybe I was just too self conscious.

Getting back to body types, even though my waist was not large per se, I have always carried a spare tire regardless of my weight and waist size.  Maybe that counted for something.
