Ammo prices headed up - again??
« on: March 10, 2011, 01:29:02 PM »
Have any of you forum members hear that ammo prices are set to jump again?  I have a friend who retired a few years ago and took a part time job with the local Wal Mart.  He was told by the manager of the Sporting Goods department that they expect ammo prices to double by July 2011.
I guess that's a good backdoor way to disarm us - price ammo so dear that we can't afford to shoot.   >:(

I hadn't heard that but it doesn't surprise me for the reasons you stated. That is an effective method of back door gun control without the label.

After checking a few sources it appears there may be some basis for the prospective higher ammo prices. Allegedly, it is due to higher lead and copper costs and there is no doubt that the price of metals has increased in the past year.

Probably has to do with the price of gas as well; delivery of raw materials and the like going up.

Sounds like a good plan. With these recent rumors it won't take long for shelves to be bare again.

This thread just cost me!  A couple cases of "stock" for the future are on the way.
