Magazine construction

The two mags that came with my R9S Stealth have a brushed back to them. I just bought a used mag that is smooth with the exception of the weld mark. When did this change? Was the welded version pre-mag spring change? I tested the used mag today and it functioned fine.

I looked at the two that I have in use,one in gun and one in mag pocket holder, and they are both the "smooth" type.
Mine are at least 2 years old,so they predate the spring change.

Hi,
I just took delivery (finally) of an R9S Elite Premium and both mags are brushed. My older R9S' mags are high polished.
