slide issue. Need input

I just heard from somewere...cant remember now, that a few of the R-9 slides have cracked and that this was do to a bad batch of steel or something. At anyrate, someone said the faulty slides have a visible line or seem on the back of the slide. Ive never had this issue, but did notice (a few minutes ago) that my slide has this line on it, and pictures of slides on the R-9 in american cop magazine do not have it. I hate to bug Maria Monday. Does anybody know what the scoop is? Do i need to get the slide replaced?

A photo of the "line" would help but it's almost certain to be ok and not a crack or a potential crack.  There were very few of those.  It could happen but most likley won't.  The good thing about it is if it does happen I know the factory is more than willing to help out!

Even the ones that were cracked,never failed.

They were repaired,replaced..
