Mag Extension
« on: July 31, 2010, 02:59:09 AM »
A year or so ago I bought an aluminum mag extension from someone on this forum.   He told me it was one of his very last ones.

I'd like another.  Anybody know where to get one these days?

Thanks for the help...

These have been on my radar screen since I joined here.

Those that have experience with them...I like the hooked style but am a bit concerned about how they would fit my hand as I grip.

My hand is large/XL.  I wear size XL motorcycle gloves.  The pup lines up slightly low for me when I grab and point.

Any thoughts always appreciated.

I recently got one by posting in the Buy, Sell, Trade room.  You might try that.

I got the hooked and for me it's perfect.  It allows me to get my pinky on the grip, which I can't do without the extension.  Glove size isn't going to be accurate as I'm sure that is a combo of finger length and width.  Better to buy one and trade/sell it if it does not work for you.  Otherwise, you will just be guessing.

Haya.  Can't give you any advice on the size issue, except like Ljutic says, try it.  These are easy to resell if it doesn't work for you.

I have the hooked ones as well.  Nice.    :)

Yeah, guess y'all are right and I just need to try one.

When I hold the pup my pinkie wraps underneath and half of my ring finger is on the grip.  Actually works out surprizingly well.

The one I have is "hooked".  It didn't fit my hand quite right so I took the dremmel to it to make the hook less sharp at the end and less pronounced.

Now it fits fine.  I think I would opt for the "straight" extension when/if I get another...
