Army Stops Improved Carbine Competition

The Army reports that none of the eight participating gun makers performed well enough in the improved carbine competition to replace the M4 Carbine.

Politics are always a huge part of this process. It would be very interesting to see how what the Army chose actually did in comparison with other Manufacture's.

The sequester has cancelled a lot of programs like this one, including the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds. The DOD is under a lot of pressure until the next catastrophe, then the money will flow again.
