I have had my Solo since October and I carry it every day.  I have about 300 rounds through it and it has been 100% so far.  It points natural for me and has amazing accuracy for the size of gun it is.

I worried about the black coating wearing off as many of the used ones on GB had lots of "chipped places" but so far so good on mine.  I like super fly holsters  and they are gentle on the pistol, do not move in my pocket, and draw easily.

I carry 124 gr Gold dots but 115 gr GD's and 115 gr Hornady CD have been 100% also.

All in all I am very pleased with the pistol.

I notice now that the stainless is starting to show up; seven on Gunbroker.

Update:

Now six.  One sold for $950.

I don't need another small 9mm but I see nothing else of interest in any of the other calibers on the horizon so maybe I'll get one of the stainless models. ;D

I'm interested in a Solo.
I actually just finished watching a youtube video of one a few minutes ago.
The guy who did the video commented and also showed where the black finish had worn off the gun.
It didn't look good.
Is this still an issue? Has the finish problem been resolved?

Probably need to get the stainless.  Haven't heard if the finish problem of the black has been resolved or not, but would think that would still be a problem.

I haven't heard about a cure for the black finish issue but haven't followed them because never had any interest in the two tone model.

I have had a Solo and carried it for 4 months.  I have about 200 rounds through it and the black finish looks like new.

When I was trying to buy one I watched the used ones on GunBroker and many of them had "nicks" in the finish so it is of some concern.  I carry in a superfly holster which is very soft and maybe that helps.  I was waiting for a silver one and finally gave up.

Kimber Solo update:

I bought my Kimber Solo when they first came on the market. I knew that might entail some returns to the manufacture as they got the bugs worked out. I was OK with that since the gun looked like
an ideal pocket carry. The only thing I never liked about the design was the safety, who needs a safety if you learn to keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to fire?

Well to make a long story short I sent back my Kimber Solo many times for numerous issues (FTF,FTE, Magazine drop without touching the release, Kimber coating wearing off rapidly etc etc. Twice Kimber replaced my gun. At one point I just asked for my money back. The Customer service representative made me an offer I could not refuse. " Try one of  our new release SS guns and if you have any issues we will replace or refund your money. I will admit that when the gun did work it was dead on accurate. I would say it was as accurate as a Sig 226.
I took possession of the SS Kimber Solo and put it through the range test's. Using the recommended ammunition and with proper cleaning I still had multiple issues with the gun not being dependable. To me
a carry gun must be 100% reliable or I won't carry it. Near the end of my 1 year warranty, I sent back the third pistol with a request that Kimber refund my $'s including the night sights I had installed and the multiple magazines I had purchased.
To my surprise they "repaired" the gun and sent it back to me. I refused delivery. Called Kimber and asked them to replace my SS Solo with a new gun and transfer my night sights on to the new gun. I reminded them of the to good to refuse offer and gave them the name of the Customer Service Manager who made the agreement with me.
After several months of administrative discussions they agreed to replace my gun and transfer the night sights to the new gun. I had the new Kimber Solo with my night sights delivered to a FFL. Then I sold the gun "new in the box" with all the used magazines, night sights and accessories I had purchased. Maybe the buyer got a great new Kimber Solo. I lost a small amount on my total purchase cost when you add up holsters and all the mags. But to this day I am much more comfortable with a S&W 340PD in my front pocket which I know will always go BANG. If the 5 shots from the S&W 340PD (with laser) does not get the job done my NY reload is a 380 Seecamp.

Just wanted to let you guys know how things finally worked out with the Kimber Solo I thought was the cat's meow. Maybe I will give the Rohrbaugh a try after I get over my trauma with small 9mm pocket pistols. Mean while I am sure I will be safe with my current pocket carry weapons. I must give Kimber a HUGE thumbs up for standing behind their product (good or not so good) and replacing or refunding when
necessary.

DGunslinger  -  I know how you feel as I had troubles with another manufacturer's pistol and they finally bought it back.

I am now on my second Solo and have not had a failure with either of them.  I liked the first so much, I moved up to the CDP version and sold the first when I had confidence in the second.  The Solo is still my favorite pocket 9mm.

I used to compare the heel mag release on my Seecamp with the NAA 380 (much heavier but all metal) and admired the apparent ease of a quick reload of the NAA. Now I wonder if the NAA 32 or 380 has issues with back pocket carry and its side mag release?

Before taking delivery of my Rohrbaugh R9 in 2004, I carried my NAA Guardian .32 from 1999-2001 and my Guardian .380 from 2001-2004, often using back-pocket carry.  I never experienced any unintended magazine ejections with either Guardian.

I bought a stainless Solo at a gunshow recently...fired it today.  Some issues for sure...for detailed analysis, see the range report I posted earlier today.
