Eric:

I was, once upon a time, long ago, as a nine-year-old boy in Oklahoma.  I even had one of the Captain Marvel "Glow-In-The-Dark-Secret-Decoder-Rings" with the special compartment in which to hide messages.  The trouble was, at the age of nine, my mother could read my mind -- and I had no secrets worth hiding anyway.   :-/

Haha - your Mom too Richard ;D.  It is I guess a near universal Mom thing.

My Mom, rest her soul - was also very fond of ''I have eyes in the back of my head''! ;)

Oh and - ''I wasn't born yesterday" :D

Well, soon to be new addition to the family.

This is an African Grey, probably the smartest of the parrot species and can have, I've heard, a several hundred to two thousand word vocabulary.  We are still debating over a name and we have to wait till he/she is totally weened before bringing he/she home for good.  I hope our other parrot will welcome the company and doesn't get jealous.

Jimmy Buffett is a good name. Matey is a good name. AFLAC is a good name, NOT! How about Homey? Parrot Top? Parrot Tonitis? Parrot Trooper? Jay Burdally?  Flyboy? Or Foghorn Leghorn? (My fave!)

OK, pick your own name. See if I care;^) Just tryin to help;^)

Actually Homer is on the list, so close to one of yours (I do like Parrot Trooper, but don't think I could get it past my lady).

How about Flint?

Roc:

That is a beautiful African Gray!

Since Ghana is one of the countries from which the African Gray originated, why not one of its tribal names?  Here are two:

Gyasi [pronounced, JAH-see], an Akan name meaning "Wonderful One."

Osei [pronounced, oh-SEH-ee], a Fante name meaning "Noble."

If you wanted a name from nearby Nigeria:

Hazika [pronounced, ha-ZEE-kay], a Hausa name meaning "Intelligent One."
(1963-1967) "GO ARMY!"

That is a topiary I've never seen before.   ;D

Thanks for the African names Richard, I really like Gyasi!  We thought that it would be nice to have an African name for him/her (we think its a she, but you can't tell unless you have a blood test done or it lays eggs :D) but we didn't know any of the languages.  I'll pass those on to the Mrs. and see what she thinks.

It is amazing how fast that bird went from downy feathers and wobbling on the bottom of the cage, to fully feathered and climbing all over the cage and eating seeds and pellets.

Steve - Bob is packing to come down to your place Wednesday for the Blade Show.  Gave him the information on one of Reese Bose's knives that will be on his table for the drawing to try for me. (Wharncliffe trapper with cap, CPM 440-V blades, brown bone scales.)

I'm sure you will enjoy yourself at the show.  Hope your booth does well.

Excellent movie, Dave.  It pays to have the right equipment.
