Having a gun in your hand is much more effective than having the entire police department on the phone!

2 Mags, Spring, Carbon Fiber grips, and box adds up close to starting bid, but conversion on top of it. Sounds interesting.

That statement just made that gun very appealing as long as the frame wasnt damage at the same time that the slide was

That is one of our early guns. The cracking of the slide has no bearing on the frame rails whatsoever. Those should be fine. The slide was made from 17-4PH SS and the barrels were made of 416SS. The dissimilar metals did not wear well together and some of the slides cracked. That issue was taken care of immediately and then we switched over to 416 for both the slide and barrels. There were no issues after that change. The slide rails were also beefed up on the newer models. If someone wanted to grab this, I could send you a slide to use, just pay for the shipping. I believe I have a few laying around. You would possibly need to fit it to the frame, or it may very well just work without any problem at all. A gunsmith would be the best way to go to install it initially though I would think, as you will need to install the extractor and the firing pin.

What about serial number on new slide vs old one? Register the new one again? Will firing pin, barrel and ejector from cracked slide fit new slide? Whew!  LNIB for $925.00 is looking better all the time.

There is no serial number on the slide.

The frame is considered as the firearm, everything else are just parts.

Eric, my guns serial number is only 30 above this one. Does mine have a possibility of cracking too?

The open market is a wonderful institution. This was a glass both half full and half empty, depending on one's point of view. I didn't see it going for over $600 but on the other hand it is a cheap R9 if it goes together with a free slide.
