Pocket Holsters
« on: September 17, 2009, 12:19:08 AM »
Hello again,

I am in the market for a leather pocket holster, and have narrowed it down to an offering from hiddenholsters.com, or one of the wallet type from pocketholsters.com....any thoughts?

It appears that RJ Hedley's daughter will be carrying on the family business.  I have not contacted her, but several threads on the Seecamp forum allude to this.  The following thread contains a picture of her work:

Jim's (hidden holsters) holsters are great, as are Lisa's (Hedley) and Roberts (Meco pocket holsters) and we can't forget Matt Del Fattie's work eithor.

BUT as for pocket holsters.com you get what you pay for.  It will work but is not one of the best available.

If you are putting a R9 in it I would most definitly go with hiddenholsters from your two choices!!

Thank you for that link! You can really tell that Lisa learned from the Master.

Matt Del Fatti hasn't taken a new order since 3/08 and is currently working on order from 5/07.  This is from the Man himself.

Your right.  BUT he has from time to time put a R9 PH3 up for sale on his instock part of his website.  None now for the Rohrbaugh but if your looking for a  seecamp holster you might find that your in luck today.

I know this may open a can of worms, but, I have a brand new RPS Stealth that I wish to get a pocket holder for. I am not worried about the cost of the holster, I want the best quality/workmanship. Only like to buy these things once and have found through the years it does not pay to "save" money on the front end on certain things, as you then have to rebuy and get what you were after in the first place.
So guys, who do you, in your experiance, feel is the 1?

Chief:

In addition to Jim's and Robert's excellent work ( http://www.hiddenholsters.net/ and http://mecopocketholsters.com/testimonials.htm ), take a look at that holster by RJ Hedley's daughter, Lisa K, at the link to the Seecamp Forum which "horseman" posted:

The e-mail address that Lisa has provided in her profile there is as follows:

I have 2 brand new, never used holsters for the Rohrbaugh semi-autos.
One was made by Jim Surrusco at Hidden Holsters, which also includes a separate hand stitched mag pouch. The other new holster by Meco in Texas, is also available.  I'm still new at posting pics, so  please email me and I will send  the pics that way (galligher106@att.net). Both of these belonged to my son...I'll check with him for a price (it will be super competitive).

Tom is a SUPERB individual with whom to discuss merits / experiences of the pistol as well as to make a  purchase.

Thanks Tom for the great holster.

Here is another option for carrying the litte pup. It accomplishes thing alot of standard "holsters" cannot.

If I were to use a covert carrier I would have to change out some springs to get atleast a 50lb trigger pull.  I just cant see how anybody is willing to stuff a doa gun with no saftey in their pants with the trigger not protected.

Thats just me though.
