And with all of that, may I suggest that the first time one finally masters the technique of executing a flawless double-clutch/down-shift as your sports car approaches a tight turn and its tachometer is about to reach the red line is one of the truly memorable experiences of life.  After that, you're tempted to do it now and then "just to show off."

I heard a report that the Hubble Telescope has malfunctioned and that NASA engineers are attempting to troubleshoot the problem.  Let us hope that they are able to get it back on line.  If they don't, these are examples of the work which we shalll be losing:

Speaking of NASA I started reading the book below about two days after I shot up Stephen King's book "CELL" - pictures in another thread.  

This book DECEPTION POINT, is a real page turner that grabs onto you.  Has NASA, science, glaciers, ocean lore, assassins, politics,  and other stuff in it.  Doesn't use love problems to take up space.


You find yourself wanting to put your R9 into your pocket while reading it in case you have to fight off the assassins - in fact I did - it made the book even more fun.  Even though it has over 700 pages the words are printed large enough to be a comfortable read.  I read it in three days.  

I give this book a Rohrbaugh "thumbs up".  Which is better than six GDHP from my R9 that I gave King's book.

The Dogs of War, by Frederick Forsyth

Hi all - not been time to drop by a day or three!

"Dogs of War'' - superb - time I re-read it in fact.

Re Hubble - folks do go here if you haven't - http://hubblesite.org/gallery/ - there are so many exquisite pics and vid's too - beautiful stuff.  Hubble has actually lasted beyond its anticipated life IIRC and has been a great device - so much knowledge gained from it.

I believe there is to be a new telescope launched sometime, which will take over and also do even more.

Space - what a  concept to try and grasp !

Chuck Helps With A Lonely Heart


My mother passed away Easter morning a few months ago.  Her and my father have been an item for 61 years when they started dating in high school.

Being alone without my mom has been very hard on my dad, who is not in the best of health.  To help fill an empty house he decided to get a kitten from the animal shelter.  He has never before had a cat.  

Well he picked up "Chuck" (forgot to ask why the name) yesterday afternoon.  The first night Chuck jumped in bed and sleep with my dad.

I met Chuck today - his second day and thinks he already rules the house.

Spencer has not met Chuck yet.
