The P1D is now being shipped on a first come first served
basis and is a hot item according to David Chow from Fenix.

Just talked to David @ the Fenix Store. He asked me to pass on the shipping status of the P1D lights.

The non-CE P1D in both black and natural is in stock and shipping immediately.

The P1D CE Natural is back in stock monday and will ship.

The P1D CE black will ship by December 31, possibly earlier.

I just got my P1D CE a few days ago. Let me say I was surprised to see it rival the output of my Surefire C2 and G2z on fresh batteries. It seems to throw about the same. I still wouldn't use it for "tactical" purposes, as it has no tailcap switch, but it is very bright, and on the low mode still useful. On medium/primary mode, it is visibly brighter than the original P1 3W and has a slightly longer runtime. Running it on high, it doesn't get as warm as the P1, either.

I'd say it's definitely an improvement over the P1. I can answer any questions about the P1D and P1D CE or other Fenix lights that you may have, as I have them all sitting on my desk.

About six months ago I purchased an INOVA X1 from my local Target store for $20.  It is very well made and bright.  It has a twist switch and tail cap push button switch.  It came with a belt holster too.  They also had other models by INOVA in stock.  Check them out when you are in the store next time.

See this link below for more information:

Click on the "Products" link and then "X1" link.

Best wishes to you all this CHRISTMAS season!
Respectfully,
Jim

Those look nice Jim.I`m going to check them out in the store.Might be a good ,low cost stocking stuffer. Thanks for the heads up.

Not the performance of the Fenix or Surefire though. For instance the 82 lumen light is about the same size as my SF Millenium that puts out 225 lumens.Probably alot cheaper though as the Millenium in in the $ 200`s.

The Inova X1 puts out as much light as an Arc-AAA Premium (5+ lumens), but at half the cost and uses AA's instead of AAA's. It's well-built and a nice utility light, IMO.

Use my P1D Cree (CE) to spot deer almost nightly around the house.

I'm new to this flashlight gathering :)

It is a lot less expensive than custom knives.

I think there are three items that is part of mans born nature to desire - these are material items  ;)

Guns and Knives - to protect and provide for our survival

fire (flashlights) - to hold back the dark

I guess I'm just a nut lover  -  a P1D Cree (CE)
"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away..."

You guys are going to wind up costing me money, yet again!  ;)

Thanks for all the good data on this thread. I think I'm going to call David Chow maņana to pick up one of those P1D CEs.
