In Memphis on Monday and Rendezvous is CLOSED!!
« on: August 02, 2009, 11:25:18 AM »
We're stopping in Memphis Monday evening on the way to St. Louis. I just found out that the world famous Rendezvous is closed on Sunday and Monday.

Who has the second best BBQ Ribs in Memphis?

I picked a hotel downtown so I could be within walking distance. My wife and kids don't know why I'm so upset.

Ask about Central BBQ.  I heard it was really the best in Memphis.  Last time I was there I tried the Neely's restaurant (they are on the Food Network) and was not a fan at all.

Corky's is good, too, but not as good as Central.

JB:

If you can't get to the Rendezvous, the Rendezvous will ship the ribs to you by FedEx Overnight:

Better yet, drive on over to Little Rock and eat at Whole Hog Cafe.

If you're driving to Little Rock, you may as well drive another 60 miles and go to McClard's in Hot Springs  and get the sliced brisket sandwich with cole slaw (the standard way they make it). :) :) :).
