Gosh, my wife and I just had our 25th. wedding anniversary and I bought her a new diamond ring!!!  It is much smaller than my R9 and was much more expensive..  I believe the value of the size is in the beholders eyes!!!  Gosh, that kinda rhymes!!!! ::)  Jim

>>Gosh, Jim...  You are such the romantic, **sniff**.  Maybe you should include that little poem into a love note to accompany the new ring...?  Just a thought.  On second thought...unless your wife actually bought that R9 for you as a gift for your 25th...then maybe you should leave it out...but who am I to say.  Regardless - congratulations on your 25th anniversary...!...TW<<

The R-9 is more like a sophisticated piece of electronics -- where small size/weight is desireable.  The smaller it is, the higher the technology, the more desireable -- therefore a higher price.

Hey TW, you got a point there!!!  I think I'll leave the love note out as I bought the R9s for my self!! ;)  However, she didn't have any problem with my purchase!! :D  But, then again she is my second wife and second wives should always be understanding of our necessary purchases!!!!  The first one wasn't an understanding soul at all!!!  Have a great day, Jim ::)

>>Jim...

I hear you about second wives being more understanding than first ones about personal purchases...  That has been my experience as well, but why is it that way...???

My first wife would have wanted a gift of her own to at least match the one I got for myself.  She might even have tried to take my own gift away from me.

My second wife is actually happy for me when I find something I would like to have for myself and buy it...  Which in turn, makes me want to do nice things for her beyond measure.  Funny how that works.  If only there was some way for a first wife to learn from the second...in which case there might not be any need for the second wife...!!!  Such a quandry...  Hmmmmmmm...TW

TW - the ''2nd time around'' syndrome is a mystery ... maybe somehow we just have to go thru the mill that once to qualify for a better 2nd trip - darned if I know! ;D

My wife is a total darling and keeper ... not tho that she quite sees 65 odd firearms as ''necessary'' LOL ....  ::) :P

65 firearms?? I thought my 15 was a bunch.
Doesn't the liberal news media consider any more than 2 firearms with more than 50 rounds of ammunition as an ARSENAL?
Just about everone I know has an arsenal at home and most have that within reaching distance.

Doc ... ''they'' will I think even concede that at times even one weapon comprizes an ''arsenal''.  With mine, I like just the simple word .. ''collection''! :P

Second wives, I suspect, are older/wiser than first wives.

Trophy wives excluded.

Just a guess-I have no personal experience with either

Hey TW, it sounds like we both did much better the "second time around".  I'm happy for you that your wife is supportive and positive..  I often wonder why I stayed with the first for 13 years, however, thats easy, it was because of the kids!!  They ended up coming with me anyway!!!  My "second" wife is very kind and supportive and likes guns..  She has harvested two bucks, and bow hunted for many years..  She traveled the U.S. on the back of my Harley for 5 years and enjoyed every minute of it!!  She was even selected as the Michigan State Art Teacher of the year in 2003!!!  You are cetainly correct in that great soul mates make us want to treat them special??  I'm a very fortunate fellow and give thanks daily...  Now, for those of you saying what's this have to do with the R9,,  it just goes to show what fine decisions we R9 owners make in life!!!!!  Have a great week,,  Jim :)

My FFL dealer really liked my R9S after it was shipped to him. He was impressed with the quality, the fact that two mags are included, and wasn't put off by the price.  (He noted some other custom quality 1911 that only includes one mag, but I forgot the brand he mentioned.) He knows his firearms and knows what quality costs.
