First R9 shipped?
« on: March 07, 2005, 08:57:19 AM »
I think I first started seeing information on the R9 last year sometime, or maybe late 2003.  Either way, does anyone know when the first one was shipped out?  How about the number of R9's that have been shipped to date?  Just curious.

I'm not sure when they started shipping; I got mine in August of 2004.  Maybe Duane knows?

If memory serves me, Erik Chaffee of Chaffee Firearms got  some in late April or early May that had been ordered late summer of '03. I saw them at the SHOT show in Orlando.

My first one was seen when Eric brought it to a PA shoot out East March '04 - he also brought Jody's as well.  Surprised (and delighted) us both.  We put some rounds thru.

I had to wait tho a while after - for it to be finished - actually IIRC waiting on resolution of a mag issue.  It then went to Alaska (yeah!!) to the dealer from whom I had ordered it - and thence to my local FFL.  It finally got to me about early May - haven't checked paperwork but that's about right.

#2 ''came along'' (doncha love that euphemism?! :D  ) ..... about Oct '04.
