Rohrbaugh Elite
« on: May 19, 2005, 10:44:52 AM »
I first learn about the Rohrbaugh a few days ago and I still trying to dicede if buying one. So I been reading this forum to get some information, what I don't get is the fact that must of you guys are talking about this gun like a jem or a jewel and the thought of power that is giving you paying $1000 for a pistol. If you wanna talk about real jewels and $25000 guns go to the shotgun talk forum. You will find, my boys that to the big guys is common to pay $5000 just for a barrel OK.

Dont think its a matter of money here, just chit chat about a nice pistol, nor is it a head trip about spending 800 on a pistol. Im sure many members here have nice things that cost far more than this pistol.  By the way does Louis Vuitton make a holster for my Rohrbaugh?

Excellent retort to Roberts post, Victor!  It is quite evident as to how you feel about your R9, regarding the " Louis Vuitton" comment.

And you are also correct in stating that owning a R9  is not just a head trip, it's just a matter of owning the " Best" that is available for all intended purpose's!

Robert,

I am not sure exactly where you are going with this thread.  I will give you a little more rope to see...

Yep -- people here like their R-9s.  A "jewel"?  Maybe.  If you had one you might understand.  I have heard this term often to describe $200 NAA mini-revolvers too -- its about craftsmanship, not money.

I hope this thread gets more productive or it is short-lived.

>>As mentioned by Duane and others...  To some of us here the R9 is an object to address with both fondness and respect, and so you will on occasion hear it referred to as a "pup", or "jewel", or maybe even a woman of class.  It has absolutely nothing to do with money, or status...and everything to do with appreciation of quality craftsmanship and the enjoyment we get in our comradery, not to forget a great group of folks at the factory who appreciate some of the things we do - like good friends and fine firearms.

We have little to no use for folks who simply enjoy the notion that their guns are bigger than ours (which is probably quite true) as if that were an indication of higher social status and importance in life.  In fact...generally speaking we believe smaller is better when it comes to the R9...and it's intended purpose.  We willingly share our thoughts and experiences about this gun...with one another and other interested parties.  But we do not shove this gun up one orifice or down another to make our points.  As a matter of fact the R9 is not for everyone...in a similar sense that Jack Russell Terriers are not for all dog lovers...and that's OK...!!...TW<<

For me it's mostly about having a 9mm pistol I can have in my pocket all summer while I wear shorts without a belt.  The secret decoder ring didn't influence me at all...  ;)

I love this little gun but I didn't get one with my R9S!

Is this a factory option or did my dealer remove it from the box prior to sale?

Do the rings come in all stainless or two tone?

I would check with my dealer.  I hope you didn;t get ripped off!

Classified.  We can't post that publically.  And, if you have to ask, you probably are not eligible to know...
