R9s on Gunbroker

Hello everyone.  There is a NIB R9s on Gunbroker.com but he wants $1150 for it.  I sent him an email suggesting that if he lowered his price to $950 it would probably sell quickly; we'll see if he answers.  I think its been listed there for a few weeks now.  Is it just me or is $1150 way to high for a NIB?

That is a high price, but the owner is obviously trying to capitalize on the "instant gratification" factor.  It will be interesting to see what that corner of the market will bear.

i bought the R9 listed at the same time as the -s-, paying the premium.  it's the only way i would ever have gotten to see the little guy, living in juneau, alaska, and not getting out much.  i'm very pleased with the fit and finish, but debating whether to keep him.

I know the last pup I got cost me around 950.00 with the Govs. cut..(late summer)
I would think the 1150.00 is a little bit more than should be,but some may feel it's worth it for not waiting..

thanks folks.  i took him out yesterday and fed him some gold dots, some federal & some remington 124 gr.  . . .  14 each and then a mixed mag.  absolutely flawless performance.

but, my poor trigger finger!  could not stop the guard from popping up and bumping the bottom side of my index finger.  ouch.  

i went straight to the skate boarding shop and got a little board (grip) tape.  put a bit on today and am going back out tomorrow to see if i have a better grip.  i'm not inclined to keep a pistol that i have trouble controlling -- even if it's only a palm shift.

we'll see.

Glad function good Michael but strange - the finger deal.

I have not had that, and my hands are large so - gun feels real small.  I have some grip tape now but even before that, no finger traumas!

Hope your application of tape can help - but remember too - in extremis you'd not be concerned about a bit of finger bruising

you've put your (trigger) finger right on the crux of the "problem."  the rohrbaugh is a serious firearm, planned, engineered and executed to produce the best possible results in real-life desperate situations.  in such instances, a tap on the finger is a small price to pay for concealability, reliability and firepower.

me?  i'm just a dilettante . . . i like the IDEA of the best and most reliable punch in the smallest possible package, but, to be honest, i don't really NEED it, as  i'm not on duty, in harm's way, in a particularly dangerous environment, etc.  as an "armchair defensive shooter" i can thus afford to sacrifice some firepower for more creature comfort.

in that regard, my R9 is still in personal limbo.  from the posts i've read, it seems like a number of shooters here on the forum feel that some grippy surface has improved their control.  if my tape keeps my finger from getting bonked, i'm keeping the little guy.  as i mentioned above, so far he has functioned flawlessly, and his pointability is unparalleled.  if he keeps biting me, i'll have to pass him on to some more serious shooter and go back to my ol' HK4 in .380, which i have shot with pleasure for some 20 years.  (do wish he packed more of a punch though).

What I haven't figured out is on some days, I don't have any discomfort, and on others I have a hard time keeping control and it squirms everywhere -- I'm putting tape on, and then I'll try -- the controlled days have been when it's cold, so I think it may be drier hands/better grips that let me keep it better behaved.
