I realize that I didn't do a very good job in my previous post. I was just so excited and pleased with my new R9s. I really love everything about it except that it wouldn't shoot more than three shots without some kind of a jam (not all stovepipes) most often two cartridges, one coming out of the mag and pushing the one on top at an angle into the top of the chamber. I don't know enough about the gun and how it shoots to know if it was me or the gun. I tried once to re- cycle the slide to chamber a round from a new mag and the slide was jammed. Later when I was trying to show a brother-inlaw what was wrong- it worked! We went out and fired a couple of mags with same sort of feeding problems, but no more sticking slide.
Now, let me begin at the beginning. I found the gun at a local dealer and fell in love with it! I had a HK usp compact 40 in the trunk and since I've never shot it much I used it as a trade toward the R9s. The dealer didn't have anything except the Hydra-shocks so I bought them and I had a couple of boxes win wbs in 9mm that I had left over from a Sig that I sold last year. Anyway when we came back to Nashville I called Rohrbaugh who told me that the gun was warrented to someone else, so I went back to the dealer who assured me that it was a new gun, in the mean time Rohrbaugh had called back and told my wife that they were mistaken and it was a new gun! It did NOT have a warrenty card in the box which had helped prompt my call to Rohrbaugh. While all of this was going on at home I was making my feelings clear to the dealer as to how I felt! Truthfully, they were very polite and assured me it was new and could be warrented and that they would take care of it. The shop owner and their gunsmith later test fired the gun and then sent it back to Rohrbaugh. It's been gone about two weeks now. I don't know yet how all of this took place! I don't hold it against the dealer, now that I know they told me the truth and didn't sell me a used gun, I'll probably do more business with them sometime. I don't hold anything against Rohrbaugh for giving me bad information, we all make mistakes, and they were nice enough to call me back and to warrenty the gun. I love the gun, and I've ordered RJ's highcut Merlin pocket holster to carry it in. There's a gunshow at the Fairgrounds tomorrow and I'm going to buy the right kind of ammo (silvertips and gold dots) for it. The gun's fault or mine for it's poor showing, I've ordered an Uncle Mike's slip-on grip for it and I'm going to learn how to shoot it!
I'm a retired pastor, I have hunted and fished all my life and admit to carrying concealed legally for most of my life. Thankfully I've never had to use a weapon against another, but I believe that it's my God given resonsibility to provide for and protect my family. I appreciate all of your help and your knowledge about the pup, and your welcome to the forum. I'm sorry my post is so long, and I'm looking forward to getting my gun back and letting you know the outcome of my lenghtly story. Thanks, Les
