Got my R9s!
« on: March 17, 2007, 03:50:54 PM »
It came in. I'm used to my MK9 so it seems top heavy, but a bit lighter. I'm trying to decide whether to use a Pachmayer slip on grip or the Uncle Mike's version. I have the Pachmayr on my MK9 and really like it.

On my first impression I noticed how weak the mag springs are. No wonder people have reliability problems. I'm glad they switched to stronger springs, I'll be on the phone in the near future to get a pair and a pair of the new magazine followers as well.

I really like heel mag release for pocket carry. Very secure. Like the blue CF grips, very slim, but again they are also very slippery. And way too slippery for summertime CCW.

Hope to have a range report soon.

Are the new mag followers out yet also.  I have not heard anything except there were going to be new ones of the same dimensions but of better material.

I garee with you on the CF grips.  I prefer the G10's on my stealth and am going to replace the CF's on my standard R9 with the G10's also.

Yes, I'm going to check into some G10's possibly, though I've heard they are slightly (very slightly) thicker.

Has anybody tried painting their sights? I think I have a couple bottles of Bright Sights somewhere here..

Nice.....so you got the "older" version w/ the cf grips.  I'd like to get ahold of one of the earlier designs myself, with the "lavender :-*" frame and the cf grips.
