New Member, not spamming
« on: March 04, 2010, 07:08:54 PM »
As per the user agreement and new member sticky, I am posting to show that I am not a spammer.

I have had my CCL for a while now and have yet to buy a CCW.  I have a Glock 19 that I can carry since it is winter, but I am looking for a summer and general carry.
I found out about the R9s and I am trying to justify the price over a Kahr PM9 or to go down to a .380 LCP/TCP type weapon.  .380 ammo is rare around here and is pricey when it can be found. My Glock is already 9mm and I like the extra "power" of 9 over 380.  Now, I am just trying to find a R9 in my price range.

Reading some posts, what is the importance of the serial number?  Is high or low; or non-R better or worse and why? Thanks.

maxpower, welcome.  For what you are looking for, an every day carry gun, any serial number Rohrbaugh will serve you well, the higher numbers will be closer to current production. The R9 is worth the price to have the smallest and lightest 9mm pocket gun made. You can contact The Irish Guard (Tom) here on the forum about getting an R9 for you.

Max:

Welcome to the campfire.

The matter of a low R9 serial number is just a small caché for some of us old timers around here. Current R9 production is based on the company's experience with thousands of pieces through the line. What you will have when you purchase yours will be one of what I consider to be the finest pocket pistol yet designed.

Max.  Welcome to the Forum.  What John and Richard said.  This is a great place to learn about the Rohrbaugh.  Again welcome and post often.

Welcome Max, after the Glock 19 comes off your belt your not going to know the R9 is even on your body. Good luck.

Welcome!

I was a G19 guy before.  Now I carry the R9 in a pocket or holster, and a G22C in my pouch.

You will love it.  No +P ammo.
