Actually, I have seen custom knives with oosic scales at knife shows in the USA. Never knew what they were and I'm sorry now that I do.

Canada is not alone in arcane laws. My grandfather was a judge and amatuer ornithologist. He taught my brother and I a love for birds which continues to this day.

However, let's say you are minding your own business and come across a feather dropped, (whatever the circumstance), from our nation's symbol; the Bald Eagle. You have just broken the law if you attempt to keep the feather as a souvenier.

Penalty? You are banished to live in New Jersey. (I would rather face cheetah's wrath).

That is me when I was young, worrying if gun ownership would be legal when I grew up. ;D
(I quit shortly after that was taken)

If you see anything at the Atlanta show that is really interesting in pre-ban or fossil ivory and feel like doing it, fire off a PM with description, price, and the amount of your finder's fee. I may not have sealed my deals by then. (Let's hear it for capitalism!)  8)

I'll see what I can find for you Richard and will let you know.
No finder's fee necessary

Thank you, Sir! You are a gentleman and scholar. Perhaps you will see something of interest at the Atlanta show.

I have a Chris Reeve Sebenza knife with micarta inserts.  I really like the knife, wonder what the micarta grips would be like on an R9   ::)

Probably pretty good in both aesthetics and function.

Perhaps something like these micartas by Pete Foldyna on my P7:
