Dberg.  I'm not a very good reference on ammo for the R9 as I only use Winchester 115 gr. Silvertips.  I do, however, recommend it, as I have never had a flaw of any kind.  

It works, and I don't want to chance a hiccup of any sort.  Now, this is just my thoughts and for me.  Everyone has to decide for themselves what they want to shoot and what works best for their R9.

You're on a good start.  Continue to enjoy the little wonder.

    Dberg, Sportsman Outdoor Superstore still has 9mm silvertips for $29.99 per box. I think that's the best price you'll find. I've bought from them several times, service was good and shipping time was excellent. Hope this helps.    Gene

Another question....

Do these pups most commonly like 115gr or 124gr when shooting Gold Dots?  I figured I ask you guys since the Dealer is not well informed on the R9S.

My R9 digests both the 115s and 124s without complaint. I used to run 147s through it until I started carrying a P7 as an occasional primary. The P7, being designed around the 115/124-grain NATO round, can have its gas-delayed blowback locking system thrown out of "kilter" with a 147-grain round. I simplified my life and quit purchasing the heavier loads.

I have also shot all three bullet weights in my pup and all functioned perfect. I carry the 147gr.

Went to Range last night and fed it 50 GD115gr and  50 critical defense 115gr.  No problems.  I figured the CD was fine since it was not +P.  So now I have about 400 rounds through it with out a single issue.  Now it's time to clean this pup and judging by some of the threads, it wont be so easy.

400 rounds without cleaning = no spring change eithor.  Cleaning is not bad at all.  Change that spring while your in there.

I have been trying to see what ammo works well and trying to get a good feel for the pup.  Only have had it about 10 days so haven't had time to clean her.  Well had time but chose other options .  I will change the spring out but for my own knowledge, how often should the spring be changed?  I don't plan to shoot my R9S but maybe every now and then to stretch her legs.

Congrats on your flawless experiences. I was pleasantly surprised that CD worked well for you since there have been so many past primer issues. Was this recently purchased CD?

I just purchased the CD two days ago.  It was suppose to be eaten by my  xdm 3.8 but I wanted to check with the R9

Seems like the factory now recommends every 250rds.  Some do less, some more.  Playboy ran his way up once testing it for failure (700+ rounds I think).  I change mine every 200 or so just because there cheap.
