The new guy from NC got a Robar!
« on: July 29, 2010, 03:30:39 PM »
Well I ordered a new robar yesterday and got it today at lunch! I was impressed with the packaging (the $3000 SCAR comes in a cardboard box) and the workmanship is top notch. I picked it up at the range so I was able to grab a box of basic federal Hollow points (the gold dots they had were +p, so no go on those)
and shoot 10-15 rounds and with no issues. I was pleased with the small group.

The North Face nylon pants I had on have a inner rear pocket that holds the pistol nicely (no round in chamber) until the "Karma" holster arrives.  I am thinking rear pocket carry will be what I choose. I plan to carefully document all ammo shot just to have as a record.
Chalk up one more happy owner on the scoreboard!
Thinking of forcing myself to carry for 30 days to see how it works....its easy to stick them in the safe and forget about them.....

Great news, enjoy the pup and don't forget to post a range report.

Scub, Congrats on the Robar. Nothing like starting at the top! Just in case you're interested, Sportsman Outdoor Superstore still has 115gr silvertips @ $29.99 per box of fifty. Good luck with the new pup.       Gene

Bryan.  Glad you like the Robar and that performance was flawless as it should be.  Enjoy.

Congratulations!

Permit me to make a prediction. After 30 days of carrying that masterpiece of yours, it will become a part of your EDC. That comes from one who was prompted by your post to calculate the number of days I have been carrying my R9. It works out to be 2,250, give or take a few days here and there along the way in hospital to repair various and sundry body parts.  ;D

Enjoy your ownership of one of what I consider to be the finest pocket pistol yet designed.

Richard.  You have done well.  That very well could be a record in days carrying.    :)
