New from CA
« on: April 25, 2011, 07:36:18 PM »
Following directions to post so I won't be thought to be a spammer.

Just purchased a new R9 last week. Had read everything I could find on this forum & elsewhere prior to purchase so I understood that this was a specific purpose gun with distinctive characteristics. Had read detractors posting about changing the spring every 200 shots, nasty recoil, and not being very accurate. All acceptable to me for the purpose I wanted it for.

Got to shoot with it two days ago, and boy was I dissapointed............, with the detractors! Considering the size, caliber, and sights, I couldn't be more pleased. Accuracy exceeded my expectations, and as far as recoil, well, if I hadn't read that it was harsh, I don't really think I would have given it a second thought. Seemed very manageable to me.

I really appreciate your forum here and all the info I have gleaned. Already have placed an order w/ yankee2500 and am now eyeballing the beautiful vz grips ad at the top of the forum.

This is only the second time I have posted on a forum of any kind so I apologize in advance if I placed this in the wrong area.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on the new PUP.

I own three sets of VZ grips, two checkered black and one carbon fiber. Both great choices. You just need to replace the screws with the Yankee2500 screws. :)

lhanks:

Welcome and congratulations on having selected the finest pocket pistol yet designed. Heed not the detractors. These days, it seems, there are detractors everywhere for everything.
