New Glock 42

Sounds like Glock is bringing out a single stack version of the 26/27.  Has anyone seen q picture of one yet one yet?

I see where there is supposed to be an ad in the new Guns and Ammo but I have not received my copy yet.

I have also read rumors of a double stack .380--only the shadow knows.

Tracker  -  I have read that the 40 is the 380 and 41 will be a long slide 45 ACP.

That still is just rumors.

The only reason the .380 rumor has any legs is that it would bring a lot of women into Glock ownership that they don't have now.

My money is on a single stack 9mm.  A slimmer version of the G26/27.  Too much like a Shield 9mm or XDs 9mm to be of interest to me.  Plus I'm sure it won't be $399 like the Shield.

MSRP on the Shield was $449.00 the last time I checked but I am on one of those as we speak. It is a good alternative to the pup when I don't want to risk the loss.

Who pays MSRP?     I typically use Buds as my Kelly Blue Book of current market prices.

I agree but only until recently could you find one without paying a premium. Two days ago I found one at less than MSRP with five magazines.

I had found a 9mm shield two weeks ago and it was 500, nice gun but I don't like paying a premium on anything. I need to get another R9 as I have been without one for too long, don't think I could shoot a qualifier at work as a bug because the 25 yards rounds might be tough.

That could be a problem for most of us. I recall from the distant past that Karl Rohrbaugh shot quite well at 25 yards. As you know the R9 was not intended to be effective at that distance. What bugs would be in the ball park for you at 25 yards?

Is the qualifier on a B27 target?

I believe I did fire my old r9s from 25 yards and did okay though that was slow process , a qual runs much quicker and has many quick mag changes so this would also make it difficult. Some of us have been trying to get the Qual for small back up guns to 15 yards and in but it's an up hill battle right now.

Back up guns are not for distance shooting but more for save my life moments which would most likely be 7 yards or less. So shooting from 15 is good enough IMO .

Looks like a largish 380 AUTO.  OAL = 5.96", height = 4.13" weight = 13.4 oz.

If there isn't a 9mm follow up they will have really missed a golden opportunity. On the other hand maybe they think it is an overcrowded field.

I don't think Gaston Glock is thinking about guns.

When the Ruger LC380 came out, I read a few posts here and there on forums where people thought it was a good idea - a 380 out of a larger gun than the LCP would mean less felt recoil.  Some people thought their wives would like it better than the pocket 380s

We've gone through a post-Newtown gun-buying craze kept strong by periodic gun control statements and threats from people like Reid and Obama that has probably made for better sales for the LC380 than would otherwise have been the case.  But still, I don't think the LC380 have been selling all that great.

I think Glock's new guns will be profitable for them because they have a built-in market of people who are going to buy Glock guns.  Just looking on the GlockTalk forum and seeing the number of people who post "Where can I buy the G25 and the G28?"  There are enough people right there to make this a successful product rollout.

Maybe this Glock will be something like that, a gun to get just because you want it...
