“The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown”

And I might add to that eloquently put statement ...

Nothing quells the fear of the unknown like preparing for the worst one can practically imagine.

Hope for the best. Plan for the worst.

Error on the side of safety.

All decent mottos IMHO as long as you don't get into excessive over engineering. That of course is for each to decide. My good friend and father in law believes in nothing but the venerable 1911. And he is good with it; however it never leaves the gun safe unless it goes in his back yard shooting. Hmmmmm.  :o
War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse.

English economist & philosopher (1806 - 1873)

Here is an Auto Mag I bought.  This is really hard to photograph.  Jeff Flannery in Kentucky did deep relief on it.

I have been accused of buying this off Saddam Hussein.  It is really too much.  It might even scare Richard off.

Nah.  It's just about right.  Meanwhile, I'm salivating over this:

I like it too Richard.  I gotta get something that's gold plated.

I wonder if any of Saddam's AK's are around.
