One of our nesting hawks (outside my windows)  in the grass -  taken from inside the house.

I have some pics to add - tho not all new.  I think it is likely some were taken even before this forum started.

If anyone remembers any that follow over time as repeats, please say.

Great pics guys.  You can really tell that hawk is a baby looking at his skinny neck and small beak, but the eyes are still so fierce.
Dragonflies have to be my favorite bug.  They come in so many colors and designs.  This time a year at my house they are thick as thieves.  Just look up and you'll see dozens zipping this way and that.  No mosquito bites this year, so I guess they are doing their job.

Nice pics Chris.  The mosquito population has been down last two years - not complaining being in the woods.  Spider population outside though is as high as usual.

Sprayed some poison ivy and also jaggers (as we call them) with Roundup two days ago with six gallons of spray - so far no poison ivy on me.  Joys of living in the woods.

Guess we are too spoiled.  The Mountain Man of long ago probably ate ivy in his salad.

Sprayed jaggers - "oh no - Dave got me"

Poison Ivy - "die, die"

Guess you can tell things are a little slow around here.

I've been spraying the odd poison plant as I see them Dave - my wife gets terrible effects from that so we nuke em early as we can - I can imagine how much you might have!

Here is a flag iris - sadly they have all finished now - in fact they do not last that long ever unfortunately.  One of many flowers I happily label ''magnificent'' :)

As I have previously noted, I was required to accept permanent and strict probation in order to convince my little judge to become my wife.  I saw nothing except a "BG" getting what he deserved.   ;)

Nice Iris Chris.

Below is a copy of a post I did on another forum - think I only showed one of the pictures here before.

Some Glaciers I've Visited In Alaska.

Three different glaciers pictured.

From the ground #1:

From the air #2:

Landed on the glacier above with Nancy in front of the plane - posted this one before.

From the water#3:

Getting closer:

To dangerous to get closer than this - huge pieces falling off or shooting up from under water:

Remember some of those pics Dave but wow - they are great to see - still promise myself maybe, just maybe - do a trip up there before my time is up - such grandeur and serenity - quite breathtaking.

One more pic - humor this time and - apologies if I posted before - tickled me (again).

Wonderful photograph, Chris!

And speaking of cars and car insurance . . . I was rummaging through a box from long-term storage this weekend and found two photographs of the first and second automobiles I ever owned.  (I wish I still owned each one of them.)

And so, my friends, would the subject of our first automobiles -- and those we wish we still owned -- be suitable for this thread . . . or a new thread of its own?  If anyone else is game and will do the same, I'm willing to scan these old prints and attempt to post them here.

Scan away Richard - would like to see those first cars.

My first one was a 1965 American Motors Rambler that I bought in 1969.  The down side was many times when it went over a deep puddle it would stall out.  Never could solve that.  It had some other quirks also.

The good side was the front seat backs would go all the way down.  A good feature for dating.

Sold it to my dad for a work car he could take into the mill.
