I just heard....a couple more months
« on: June 20, 2005, 07:22:02 PM »
Well, it has been a long wait since the begining of November for our order.
Myself and five others ordered our R9s from a local dealer, and that dealer just contacted the Rohrbaugh factory.
He wrote me today to tell me that it may be a couple more months before we see our R9s.

I have been reading a lot about the production at the factory, the problems with the barrels, and the headaches with the move, and Eric getting a bit under the weather.

I just hope for their sake, they can work through all this, and start cranking these little guns out.
They're in a large facility now, and I am almost back to where I was back in November. Back then it was a three month wait.
I'm looking at another two months after a seven month wait

Waiting is hard to do..

May I ask what State you ordered??

I have the understanding that Oct. orders "may" be inbound end of June..I am in MI.

Subject to change of course.. :o

Wishing everyone a speedy delivery!! 8)

We ordered in CT, and it was in November.
I guess I am adjusted to waiting, most of the other guys in the group are also, except one.
We were told "maybe" August, but no promises.

I ordered mine in early October, so it's been over 8 months. At this point I'm no longer thinking about it all the time. Whenever it comes, it comes. But it must be close now... :)

I look up to you guys who have waited so long.  I recently ordered through theirishguard, a dealer on the forum, who made his order awhile ago.  He posted that there were a few guns left for the Aug/Sept shipment.  Of course as we know things can happen.

Years ago I waited two years for my Seecamp.  I guess now days I'm getting too old to have that much patience.  I hope all of you see your R9s soon.

1) what barrel problems?  what did you hear?

2) Karl is the main manufacturing guy from what I was told when I spoke to them beginning of June.  Eric doesn't spend much time at the factory since the move.

Ok, answered my own question. Read in another thread, "heat treatment problems" on barrels is the reason for delay.

Just registered after a year of monitoring the forum to let you know that a large shipment was sent out yesterday.  Mine is arriving via "overnight" today.  I ordered (direct) September 15, 2004.  It took over 9 months, but my two Seecamps took over a year.  I also asked Maria to throw in a pocket holster (which she did for only about $50 more!).

Hi Russ, thanks for jumping on board and letting me know you are very close to getting your R9.
Congratulations, and good luck.

Yeah, most of us in my group have waited more than a year for our Seecamps also. Our first ones we were able to get right away, but we didn't worry about any one we ordered after that. However, waiting for the first LWS .380 took some patients.

All is good, and soon we will have our little nines!

Russ:

Welcome into the Forum, and congratulations on your soon-to-arrive Rohrbaugh.  I predict that you will find it as impressive as the rest of us have done.  Let us know.

Hi Russ and welcome!!

Finally - Great!   Let us know what you think of your R9 when you finally have it in your hands - what type of pocket holster did Maria throw in.

Thanks for the welcomes ... but I've been reading the posts on this forum so long I definitely don't feel new.

The R9S was waiting for me when I got home today.  I met the brothers at the NRA show in Houston a couple of months ago (went straight to their booth when the show opened on the 1st day), and got to handle several of the ones they brought with them.  I think mine is a little nicer (but that's just me).  Serial number is 281 and marked "Deer Park" with the black grips.  The holster is the basic Graham cowhide pocket model.  It's nice and light and seems to be breaking in well (it's only been a couple of hours).  I own about a hundred or so handguns and this one impresses me.

I wonder why the serial 281 and not 7XX  - I figured all the Deer Park guns would be marked higher - is the frame black Russ?
