For the most part it appears that R9s are selling in the same range as the original purchase price. There are some exceptions in the rarer breeds, however.

Wow. . . . I see this gun just sold. That was fast!

Actually it was probably the first bidder waking up and realizing that he bid the 'buy it now' price and unless he did not want anyone to overbid him (and he have to pay more for the gun to get it) he needed to take action.

Very happy to see these getting some love on the auction sites.

Actually, Phil, if you zoom in on one of the photographs of the right side of the gun above Rohrbaugh, you can see the engraved word "COVERT" on the slide. It is tough to see but it is there.

I do most of my web browsing on my phone, so it's hard to pick up those small details unless I think to zoom in.

This is listed as a "Covert."  It doesn't say Covert on the slide and it has the same grips as my Special Forces. What was the serial number range on the Special Forces?

These were standard R9 pistols that were upgraded by Wilson Combat. We, Rohrbaugh Firearms Corp, never made a COVERT model. This was an aftermarket design, and pretty nicely done at that.

Our Special Forces models were all black also, but the slide was not engraved with that name. We just had Rohrbaugh R9 on our slide. I believe the serial numbers of the SF guns were earlier, but I can not quite remember the actual numbers at this time, I apologize for my memory good Sir.

Ah yes. . . . . "The Mission", or Karl also called it:  "The Coyote"

With S.N. R6214, this was among one of the last R9 pistols we ever made. All parts were hand-picked by me for the crispness of lines and finish. I actually applied the Cerakote finish to all tan parts myself. The black parts were coated at Wilson Combat.
I can say that it was an interesting piece to make. This was Karl's design, not so much one of mine.

This one does look pretty much unfired except for me testing it at the factory prior to giving it the go for sale. This model also has all of the updates since we started producing them in 2004. The grips on these were done by John at VZ Grips.

Good bidding on this rare classic as not many of these models were produced.

Regards to Everyone,

Eric C. Rohrbaugh

Thanks!  And the “Stealth” is just a black R9 but without matching black barrel, trigger, etc.?

No, a Stealth is just a standard model with the slide coated black.

The hammer, trigger, barrel, mag catch, and magazines still have the standard stainless finish.
